Commuter and Long Distance Trains

The innovative GigaSTAR® technology for video signal distribution provides a crystal clear digital image on
a nearly unlimited number of screens connected to a single central Multimedia Server. This server can
be located at any position along the train or even inside the motor car. Therefore maintenance and service
is kept to a minimum.

Real Time Passenger Information

A digital transmission system between the operation control center and the
trains keeps the passenger informed about the current situation of their travel.
This includes expected time of arrival, delays, connections, traffic conditions
and so on. All this information reaches all or selected trains within seconds.

This is the first train that was
equipped with a DMB passenger
infotainment system in 1997.
Travelling a distance of
approximately 300 km each way
it provided a real time TV program
to the passengers.
